The owner of Diversified Health Services, which operates the Park Marino and Park Balboa assisted living homes in California, came to GWAV in need of a website that conveyed the unique atmosphere and services of his establishments. Unlike many such residences, which can be rather dreary places, DHS' homes focus on creating vibrant communities that allow residents to live independently with support from an outgoing staff.

To convey DHS' refreshingly personal approach to assisted living, we used a serene and sophisticated color palette and selected friendly, welcoming images that convey the residences' dedication to creating an engaging and empowering environment.

Because the design needed to work across two separate websites with differing content, we created a flexible structure that would work across the Park Marino and Park Balboa sites, re-skinning the design with different colors and imagery for each. Taking the sites' audience into account, we also made sure to tend to important details like readability, giving each page a flexible text size, for instance.
